Cultural Arts Everywhere collaboration with Buchanan Library

In September, Cultural Arts Everywhere partnered with the Buchanan Area Senior Center and Buchanan High School to present Intergenerational Sing, a joyful community event that brought together students and seniors through the universal language of music. This collaborative program fostered connection across generations, encouraging participants to share stories, songs, and experiences while celebrating the role of the arts in building community.

We had an incredible summer in Buchanan with Cultural Arts Everywhere! From music and performances to art and community events, this season was filled with creativity, connection, and joy. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and to all the performers, partners, and supporters who helped make these moments possible, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Cultural Arts Everywhere hosted a Smart Phone Filmmaking Workshop at the Buchanan Area Senior Center designed specifically for older adults. This hands-on workshop empowers seniors to tell their stories, document their lives, and express their creativity using the smartphones they already own. Participants learned essential filmmaking skills including basic shot composition, video editing, storytelling, and sharing content on digital platforms.

Buchanan’s Got Talent is the community’s stage to shine. Held in Buchanan, Michigan, this event brought together performers of all ages and backgrounds to showcase their skills. Our mission is to celebrate local talent, foster creativity, and provide a platform where everyone has the chance to be seen and heard

Cultural Arts Everywhere partnered with the Buchanan District Library to present Smart Phone Filmmaking Workshops for Kids. This interactive workshops introduces young creators to the art of storytelling through film, using the smartphones and tablets they already have access to. Kids learned essential skills like framing shots, basic editing, sound recording, and how to shape their ideas into compelling short films.

Designed to encourage creativity, digital literacy, and self-expression, the workshops provided a fun and supportive environment where kids can work together, build confidence, and explore new ways to share their unique perspectives.

The Buchanan community came together for an evening of Samba dancing at the Buchanan Common.

International vocalist Greta Pope brings the unforgettable sounds of Motown to performances around the country, celebrating the music that shaped a generation. From soulful ballads to upbeat classics, this performance pays tribute to the legendary artists of Detroit’s Motown era.

Our library has been fortunate to work previously with Dr. Greta Pope and her team at Cultural Arts Everywhere, and we can attest to their ability to provide high-quality programs for youth and adults. Greta and her instructors are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and personable. They bring a sense of cultural awareness and experience to everything they do, enhancing their work in the arts to something even greater.

I most importantly want to thank my voice teacher, Dr. Greta Pope. She has provided me with a solid vocal foundation. She introduced me to the elite Summer Camp Program at Interlochen during my freshman year at ChiArts and has given me the vocal technique to be able to succeed in the competitive Interlochen environment.

I have worked with Greta Pope and CAE for the past two years on programming at the Buchanan Area Senior Center. This collaboration has been truly fruitful in terms of patron response and enrichment, and it has directly advanced our mission to promote physical, social and mental well-being. The participants in the CAE programs develop confidence in their abilities and positive socialization in the group classes.
