We’re kicking off Buchanan’s Got Talent this August at The Buchanan Common with an unforgettable summer evening filled with music, movement, laughter, and applause. This family-friendly event is a chance for our community to come together and celebrate the wide range of talent that makes Buchanan such a special place to live.
Whether you're cheering on a friend, clapping along to a favorite song, or discovering a hidden gem in your neighborhood, you’ll be part of something magical. Join us as we transform a summer night into a stage for creativity, courage, and community connection.
August 19: Your Voice Matters!
On the big night at The Buchanan Common, our talented finalists will take the stage to share their music, movement, and creativity with an audience of friends, family, neighbors, and fellow artists. Each performer will get their moment to shine, and while our panel of local judges will weigh in, the audience plays a major role too.
Your cheers, applause, posters, and noisemakers all count toward helping us crown the “Crowd Favorite.” The more energy you bring, the more excitement fills the air — and the more the performers feel your support.
Buchanan’s Got Talent is about more than competition. It’s about celebrating community, encouraging courage, and creating a night we’ll all remember. When you join us, you’re not just watching a show, you’re helping decide who walks away as one of Buchanan’s brightest stars.
What to Bring
We encourage families to explore Buchanan, Michigan prior to the event by grabbing dinner at one of the many local restaurants.
After dinner, bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, snacks, and a supportive spirit to cheer on your favorite act. Arrive early to grab a good spot, meet your neighbors, and soak up the joyful energy of a summer night well spent. This event is free and open to the public.

Your Emcees for Buchanan’s Got Talent
We’re thrilled to have Dennis Mori and Dr. Greta Pope as the dynamic hosts for this year’s Buchanan’s Got Talent.
Dennis Mori was born in Chicago and moved to Buchanan at age 12. A Buchanan High School graduate, he went on to a 55-year career in visual merchandising for major retailers and catalog companies, with work taking him around the world. Since returning to Buchanan in 2024 with his husband Bruce, Dennis has poured his creativity into local volunteer efforts with The Buchanan Scarecrow Charities, Buchanan Pride, and area businesses.
Dr. Greta Pope is an award-winning, internationally acclaimed entertainer who has performed
across Europe, Asia, South America, the Caribbean, and North America. Known for her
versatility in styles from jazz to opera to Broadway. A music educator, motivational speaker, and
podcast host, Dr. Pope also serves on numerous arts and philanthropic boards, bringing her
passion for performance and community to every stage she graces.
